HYDERABAD: Union Minister and Telangana BJP election incharge Prakash Javdekar and party State president G Kishan Reddy have made it clear that the Assembly elections in Telangana would take place as per schedule.
Addressing the party office-bearers meeting at the State headquarters, Prakash Javadekar said that the elections in Telangana would be conducted as per schedule, first for the Assembly and later for the Lok Sabha constituencies.
Allaying fears of the party cadre that the elections could be postponed to be conducted with the Lok Sabha elections at a later date, the BJP leaders tried to encourage them that the elections would take place as per the schedule.
To stem the complacency in the cadre that crept in recent days, the party announced a ‘Bus Yatra’ from Basara, Somasila and Bhadrachalam from September 26 to October 11 covering 4,000 km in 19 days.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi would address a public meeting on the day of culmination of these Bus Yatras,” Kishan Reddy said.
While the erstwhile districts of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Medak would come under Basara zone to be led by Kishan Reddy, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy would come under Somasila zone to be led by DK Aruna and Khammam, Warangal and Karimnagar would come under Bhadrachalam zone to be led by Etela Rajender.
The BJP would celebrate the Liberation Day on September 17 at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds. Home Minister Amit Shah would address a public meeting from the Parade Grounds. Party cadre were directed to hoist flags at all the booth level centres in the State on Liberation Day.
Similarly, the State unit would undertake a 24-hour sit out starting from September 13 morning demanding jobs for the unemployed and the unemployment dole promised by the BRS Government.On September 15, there would be a cycle rally from Secunderabad clock tower to Amradhamam in Parakala demanding inclusion of Hyderabad leibeartion in school curriculam, development of memorials of those who lost their lives during the liberation of Hyderabad.
