There are 3.17 crore eligible voters in Telangana: Election Commission
Of the 3.17 crore voters, 1,58,71,493 are men, 1,58,43,339 women and 2,557 transgender voters. 15,338 people are service voters and 2,780 are overseas voters as per the list.
HYDERABAD: There are 3.17 crore voters in Telangana as per the Election Commission (EC). The EC on Wednesday released a final list of voters in the State ahead of the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections.
Telangana currently has 3,17,17,389 votes after the canceled votes. After purusual, a total of 22,02,168 votes were deleted. Of the 3.17 crore voters, 1,58,71,493 are men, 1,58,43,339 women and 2,557 transgender voters. 15,338 people are service voters and 2,780 are overseas voters as per the list.
Around 17 lakh new voters have been added to the list. This is a 5.8 per cent increase from the first special summary revision list released in January 2023.
Multiple rounds of house-to-house surveys and verifications have been conducted, and 14,24,694 corrections have been made to the electoral roll this year.
Addresses of 4,15,824 voters (mostly apartments/portions in the same building having same door numbers) were corrected.
3,94,968 voters have been migrated within the assembly constituency from one polling station to another, and 64,661 voters have been migrated from one assembly constituency to another, with the correct polling station duly allotted.
Meanwhile the Hyderabad district election officer has requested voters in the city to verify their names in the final electoral rolls on the ECI website or by downloading the Voters Helpline App and submit their claims and objections if any in Form-6, Form-7 and Form-8 under continuous updation of voters list. The claims received through form-6 before 10 days of last date of nominations would be processed and considered for inclusion in the electoral rolls, said the officer.
