HYDERABAD: In light of the ongoing Khairatabad Ganesh festival, where thousands of devotees are expected to visit the Khairatabad Bada Ganesh idol daily, the Hyderabad Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory for the immersion day on September 17.

The diversions will be in effect from 11 AM till late at night, based on the crowd and traffic flow.

As a precaution, general traffic coming from various directions around the festival area will face restrictions and be diverted. These include:

1. Traffic from VV Statue towards Mint Compound will be diverted at Rajeev Gandhi Statue towards Nirankari Junction.

2. Traffic from Old PS Saifabad towards Bada Ganesh will be diverted at Rajdoot lane towards Iqbal Minar.

3. Traffic from Iqbal Minar towards Mint Compound will be diverted at Mint Lane Entrance towards Telugu Thalli junction.

4. Traffic from NTR Marg, Khairatabad Flyover, and Necklace Road towards Mint Compound will be diverted at Necklace Rotary towards Telugu Thalli junction or Khairatabad flyover.

5. Traffic from Nirankari via Khairatabad Post Office lane towards Khairatabad Railway gate will be diverted at the Post Office towards Old PS Saifabad junction.

Due to the large number of devotees, traffic congestion is expected at major junctions such as Khairatabad, Shadan College, Nirankari, Old PS Saifabad, Mint Compound, and Necklace Rotary, especially during weekends and holidays. Commuters are requested to avoid these routes.

Parking Arrangements:

- Visitors coming via Necklace Rotary and NTR Garden can park at Ambedkar Square, IMAX Theatre parking, NTR Garden parking, Saraswathi Vidya Mandir High School, and Race Course Road parking.

- Those arriving in their own vehicles for darshan should use Necklace Road/IMAX Rotary and avoid the roads near Rajeev Gandhi Statue and Rajdoot lane.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police have requested devotees to park their vehicles only in designated areas and urged commuters to use alternative routes to avoid delays. For any emergencies or travel assistance, commuters can contact the traffic helpline at 9010203626.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) P Viswa Prasad has requested all devotees and commuters to follow the advisory and cooperate with the traffic police to ensure smooth movement during the festival.
