TRS MLAs' poaching: Bandi Sanjay says BJP will approach court, ECI
Bandi Sanjay said on Thursday that the entire episode was staged by the TRS and that the BJP was in no way involved in it
MUNUGODE: In an attempt to counter-attack the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) after the farmhouse fiasco to poach TRS MLAs, Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Bandi Sanjay said on Thursday that the entire episode was staged by the TRS and that the BJP was in no way involved in it. He addressed the press in Munugode after the BJP released a 'chargesheet' against the TRS government, just a few days ahead of the crucial by-elections.
In a sensational operation on Wednesday night, the Cyberabad Police raided the farmhouse of Tandur MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy on a tipoff that three persons, with alleged links to the BJP, tried to broker a deal to poach TRS legislators Pilot Rohith Reddy, Achampet MLA Guvvala Balaraju, Kollapur MLA B Harshavardhan Reddy and Pinapaka MLA Rega Kanta Rao into joining the BJP. They allegedly offered huge amounts of money in bribes and good positions in the party.
Bandi Sanjay said that the BJP would file a petition in the court to order a probe into the issue. He also said that they would approach the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). "If what they are claiming is true, they should present the CCTV footage of Deccan Kitchen Hotel and Pragati Bhavan, give a list of who all met Chief Minister KCR in Delhi besides revealing the call lists of everyone including the Cyberabad Commissioner," said the BJP Telangana President.
He also counter-claimed saying that the person who was said to be facilitating the meeting and the deal with the TRS MLAs had no links to the BJP and on the contrary, he had business relations with the TRS leaders. TRS was staging a 'drama' just to win the Munugode by-elections, said Bandi Sanjay.
