NANDED: On the day when Telangana legislature secretariat notified Telangana Rashtra Samithi Legislature Party (TRSLP) as Bharat Rashtra Samithi Legislature Party (BRSLP), its supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao embarked on testing political waters in the neighbouring states.

As part of exploring political opportunity, KCR deputed his senior colleague from erstwhile Adilabad district A Indrakaran Reddy to Nanded in Maharashtra.

Why Nanded? Nanded was part of Hyderabad-Karnataka before the formation of Andhra Pradesh in 1956. Geographically and culturally, Nanded is intertwined with parts of Telangana, especially Adilabad.

Minister for Forests, Environment, Justice and Law of Telangana Allola Indrakaran Reddy, while in Nanded on Thursday, said that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi was made to develop India. "The schemes implemented in Telangana are unmatched with schemes of any State in India. All sectors of Telangana are focused on by the State Government and if the BRS is elected at the Centre, such development will happen across our country," he said.

Indrakaran Reddy said that Chief Minister KCR would also visit Nanded soon to understand the problems of the people.

"Through Rythu Bandhu, Rs 10,000 is being given to farmers per acre every year. Through Rythu Bhima, Rs 5 lakh is given to the family if a farmer dies. There is 24 hours electricity supply to all sectors. Drinking water, irrigation, schemes for women, Dalit Bandhu and many such schemes, which aren't present anywhere else in India, are being implemented in Telangana," said Indrakaran Reddy. He also said that the BRS would soon plan its expansion in Maharashtra so that they also could be understood and development could be brought. He asked the people of Nanded to extend their support to the BRS.

The Minister also said that the BRS and its allies were the only alternative to the BJP and the Congress at a national level. "People who have been ruled by the BJP and the Congress now want the rule of the BRS because they are seeing how well Telangana is using its resources."

A notification issued by Telangana Legislative Secretary Dr V Narsimha Charyulu on Thursday confirmed the official name change of the Party. It said, "Apropos, the Hon'ble Speaker, Telangana Legislative Assembly ordered that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi Legislature Party (TRSLP) shall henceforth be treated as Bharat Rashtra Samithi Legislature Party (BRSLP) in the Telangana Legislative Assembly and accordingly, necessary changes in the records incidental thereto be effected forthwith."
