HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has said that his party will strive to turn Telangana as a model State in the country by working for the people.
Addressing students at the Dr BR Ambedkar College in Baghlingampally on Friday, Revanth said, "How much we earned is not important but how much we gave back to the society is. With this in mind, late Congress leader G Venkat Swamy, popularly known as Kaka, started this institution in 1973 and has helped educated over one lakh students in the last 50 years."
Praising Kaka, Revanth said that the leader gave away his house to the Congress party in New Delhi for the house to function.
Saying that the Congress came to power in the State because of the blessings of the people of Telangana and the struggle of the unemployed, Revanth said, "We are trying to make Telangana as an ideal State in the country. The idea that politics is all about money should be set aside. Today, even a common man living in Indiramma's house won as an MLA. If you go to the people and serve them, they will definitely support you."
