TSRTC launches 'T-9 Ticket' offering discounted travel for women, senior citizens
The TSRTC has taken a significant step towards reducing the financial burden on rural and urban commuters with the introduction of the 'T-9 Ticket'
HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has taken a significant step towards reducing the financial burden on rural and urban commuters with the introduction of the 'T-9 Ticket.' This ticket, specifically designed for women and senior citizens travelling in Palle Velugu buses, aims to provide convenience and affordability to passengers. Under this scheme, a passenger can pay Rs.100 and can travel anywhere upto 60 kilometers from 9 am to 6 pm.
With the success of T-24, T-6, and F-24 tickets in Greater Hyderabad region, TSRTC has now decided to introduce the ‘T-9 Ticket’, catering to the needs of rural and urban travellers. VC Sajjanar, MD, TSRTC, unveiled the 'T-9 Ticket' poster at Bus Bhavan in Hyderabad on Friday. Starting from June 18 (Sunday), passengers could purchase T-9 from conductors in Palle Velugu buses.
The 'T-9 Ticket' price includes exemption from toll gate charges, resulting in savings of Rs 20 to Rs 40 per person. Senior citizens aged 60 and above can obtain the ‘T-9 Ticket’ by presenting their Aadhaar card to the conductors for age verification. The tickets will be issued from 9 am to 4 pm and are valid within the state.
On an average, approximately 15 lakh people travel in Palle Velugu buses every day, with a majority being women and senior citizens. With the aim of alleviating their financial burdens, TSRTC decided to introduce the discounted ticket service.
