TTD issues health guidelines for pilgrims using Tirumala footpath
TTD advises elderly and chronically ill pilgrims to avoid footpath route to Tirumala.
TIRUMALA: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has issued health guidelines for pilgrims choosing to take the footpath to reach Lord Venkateswara's temple atop Tirumala.
In a recent advisory, TTD advised elderly pilgrims and those with health issues such as high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, epilepsy, or heart conditions to avoid the physically demanding staircase route.
Officials highlighted that Tirumala's altitude results in lower oxygen levels, which may pose difficulties for those with chronic health issues. TTD recommended that those with long-term ailments carry necessary medications while making the climb.
For pilgrims encountering health issues en route, medical assistance is available at designated points including the 1,500th step, Galigopuram, and Bhasyakarlu Sannidhi. TTD also confirmed that emergency medical facilities are readily accessible at hospitals in Tirumala, ensuring immediate aid for those in need.
