Rousing reception for U-19 World Cup winning Telangana lasses Trisha, Yashashree
The two girls, accompanied by their coach Shailaja and Telangana Minister for Tourism Srinivas Goud, were received by a crowd of people at RGIA
HYDERABAD: Gongadi Trisha and S Yashashree, two young women from Telangana who were a part of the Indian Women’s under 19 cricket team, returned to Hyderabad after winning the ICC Under-19 Women's Cricket World Cup inaugural tournament. They said that they were thankful for the support received from the Telangana Government and that they wish to inspire many young girls to play sports.
The Indian team won the world's first ever Under 19 Women International cricket championship. The final was between India and England, where India won by seven wickets.
The two girls, accompanied by their coach Shailaja and Telangana Minister for Tourism Srinivas Goud, were received by a crowd of people at RGIA.
Speaking to the media, Trisha and Yshashree said that they were very proud to be part of the Indian team and win the international tournament. They also thanked everyone for the warm welcome they received.
Minister Srinivas Goud said, “We are very proud that two girls from our Telangana were part of the Indian Women Under 19 team and that they won the world cup. Chief Minister KCR aims at strengthening the sports infrastructure in the State. I would like to congratulate Trisha, Yshashree and Shailaja.”
