Voter turnout in Telangana 61.16 percent at 5 pm, Hyderabad lowest with 39.17, percentage might increase

HYDERABAD: Polling for 17 Parliamentary Constituencies in Telangana ended at 6 pm on Monday. However, all those inside the polling booth premises would given slips and would be allowed to vote.
“The data available up to shows that the overall polling percent in Telangana is 61.16 percent. However, the numbers will be updated after 7 pm and the percentage could change,” Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj told media here in Hyderabad.
He said that overall polling has been peaceful but 38 FIRs had been filed in different parts of the State. He said that Hyderabad with 39.17 percent polled the lowest number of votes in the State. The poll percentage in the Secunderabad cantonment by-election was 47.88.
