MEDAK: Minister for Finance and Health T Harish Rao allaying fears of farmers with crop loans of Rs 1 lakh and above said that the Telangana Government would embark on the waiver of their loans after the completion of the ongoing waiver of loans up to Rs 99,999.
Addressing media in Medak on Saturday, Harish Rao said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao gave clear instructions to take all steps required to make farmers debt free. “If your (farmers) accounts are not in operation, we will operationalise them at our end and deposit the amounts,” he said.
Criticising the Congress party for selling applications to field candidates in the ensuing elections, Harish Rao said that the party was facing an acute shortage of candidates. “Congress has no leader, BJP has no cadre and there is no one who could defeat KCR and BRS,” he said.
Exuding confidence in returning to power for the third time, Harish said that the Congress party there were no candidates for the Congress to field in at least 30 to 40 assembly segments. “The party that sells applications will sell the State if voted to power,” he cautioned people.
