"We defeated BJP's B-team in Telangana, will now defeat A-team": Rahul Gandhi takes swipe at BRS

HYDERABAD: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Rahul Gandhi has taken potshots at former Chief Minister and BRS president has said that the Congress Government defeated the BJP's B-team in Telangana and will now defeat the A-team in the country.

Rahul was speaking at the grand old party's public meeting titled 'Jana Jatara' at Tukkuguda. Elaborating on the guarantees, he said, "We came here a few months ago. We spelt out our guarantees. Similarly, we have now put out the Congress manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections.

"When we put out the guarantees, it was named Congress guarantees but it is actually your (people's) guarantees. Rs 500 gas cylinder, 200 units free electricity, free travel for women in buses and Gruhalaxmi scheme were all your demand. The Congress is now fulfilling those demands.

"We have given jobs to 30,000 people after coming to power in Telangana and will now give 50,000 more jobs in the State. We have reiterated the same in our national manifesto," Rahul said.

Training his guns on KCR over the phone tapping case, Rahul said, "KCR tapped phones of thousands of people by using the Intelligence services. As soon as their Government fell, they tried to destroy the data. They tried to loot people's money. But the Congress Government got to work and brought about change. The same work of KCR is being done by Modi Government in New Delhi.

"What was know as Enforcement Directorate it is now recognised as Extortion Directorate. The BJP is running the biggest washing machine with the country's most corrupt politicians standing with Modi. Even in the Election Commission, Modi has his men," Rahul said.

'Electoral bond system is world's biggest scam'

Criticising the electoral bond system as the world's biggest scam, Rahul said, "It's a transaction in exchange for business. The electoral bonds list is evident that the CBI threatens a company and they donate money to the BJP in the same month. Projects worth thousands of crores are awarded to certain companies and you would see that 20 days before, they would have donated to the BJP.

"But we are not scared of these people. We defeated the BJP's B-team in Telangana (BRS) and now will defeat the A-team," Rahul said.

Cautioning the people against voting for the BJP, "The BJP wants to wipe off the constitution. We will ensure that won't happen. This is a fight to save democracy. Modi works only for 3-4 per cent of the population. They have money, media, institutions. We have only truth and love of people. And always, truth and people win."
