"We need people to question, not to praise Government," KTR at MLC poll campaign
Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president KT Rama Rao accused the Congress of deceiving the unemployed by making false promises only to usurp power from the BRS.
YELLANDU: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao accused the Congress of deceiving the unemployed by making false promises only to usurp power from the BRS.
He addressed a meeting in Yellandu on Monday during a campaign meeting for by-elections for the Khammam-Nalgonda-Warangal Graduate Constituency of the Telangana Legislative Council, supporting BRS candidate Anugula Rakesh Reddy.
“We lost to the Congress with a slender difference of 1.8 percent. Out of the 14 seats that we lost, we could have easily won 10 seats if the youth were not misguided,” he observed. He said that the unemployed and the youth believed that Congress would create 2 lakh jobs in one year and would not charge application fees for all job-related written tests, KTR said.
“Nowhere in the country the State Government recruited 2 lakh unemployed youth during their tenure. The BRS Government from 2014 to 2023 recruited 2 lakh people in different Government departments, but we failed to convince the youth of what we did,” he said.
He said that at least 50 percent of the population in India consisted of youth and no Government would be able to employ a large population like that. “That is why in Telangana we also created 24 lakh jobs by encouraging investment in private sector,” he said.
KTR said that the BRS Government established 33 medical colleges and an equal number of nursing colleges while there were only three medical colleges before Telangana was formed. “We have created a huge job opportunity in the education sector,” he observed.
KTR said that the Congress Government also deceived farmers with false promises. “The Government which was supposed to release Rytu Bandhu financial assistance before the agriculture season, depositing the money during election season,” KTR said. But in ten years KCR made Telangana number one in paddy production, surpassing Punjab and Haryana, KTR said.
Calling upon the youth to elect Rakesh Reddy, he said that the BRS candidate was well-educated, left a lucrative job in the USA for Telangana, and honest. “On the other hand, the Congress candidate is a blackmailer and has 56 cases on his head,” KTR said.
