Kaleshwaram Package 9 wet run successfully, to irrigate 86,150 acres in Rajanna Sircilla

HYDERABAD: Engineers of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) and TS Transco have successfully completed a trial run of the second pump in package nine during the wee hours of Sunday. This package aims to irrigate 86,150 acres of land in the Rajanna Sircilla district.

Machines (30MW x 2nos) in the underground pump house were run without a hitch for almost two hours under the supervision of KLIP engineer-in-chief (Karimnagar) N Venkateshwarlu and executive engineer Gangam Srinivas Reddy. With this, testing of both the pumps under the ninth package’s wet run was completed successfully.

Engineers of MRKR Constructions and WPIL worked hard to complete the trial of the second pump without any glitch.

The ninth package works under link 3 of KLIP includes the construction of two pump houses linking the Mid Manair reservoir with the Upper Manair reservoir, the construction of Malkapet reservoir, a 12-km-long tunnel, and a 27.50-km open canal.
