Woman attacks colleague over extramarital affair in Yadadri collectorate

BHUVANAGIRI: In a shocking incident, a woman attacked her colleague with a knife at the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri collectorate on Friday over personal disputes between them.
The woman was identified as Shilpa, working as an agricultural officer in the collectorate. In 2012, Shipa married Sudheer and stayed away from her husband for the last two years. She allegedly had an extramarital affair with the victim Manoj, an agriculture extension officer in Atmakur mandal in the district.
However, differences cropped up between Shilpa and Manoj for some time and Manoj went on leave for two months. After his vacation, Manoj came to the collectorate on Friday and had an altercation with Shilpa. Heated words were exchanged between the duo and as the discussion escalated, Manoj tried to attack Shilpa with a knife. However, Shilpa attacked Manoj with the same knife.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a team of police personnel rushed to the spot and took Shilpa into custody and shifted Manoj to a nearby hospital. A case was registered by the police and further investigations were underway into the incident.
