YS Sharmila suffers dizziness in Khammam tour, party says heatstroke

KHAMMAM: YSRTP chief YS Sharmila suffered a brief illness after she almost fainted, reportedly due to a heatstroke, during her tour of Khammam on Sunday. She undertook the visit to take stock of the crop damage suffered during the recent untimely rains and assuage the farmers.

The incident happened when she was speaking to the media at one of her stops to check the extent of the crop loss. While speaking to the media in full flow in her usual style, YS Sharmila suddenly appeared to have felt dizzy and began losing her balance. One of her party’s women activists, standing right next to her, immediately held her in her arms protecting the leader from collapsing on the ground.

Later, the YSRTP chief was helped by the onlookers to sit on the ground to let her come back to complete consciousness. Her followers did the necessary first aid besides allowing some fresh air so that she could breathe easy. The party leaders later attributed the brief illness to a sun stroke, pointing to the fact that Y S Sharmila had been intensely taking part in her political activities in the recent past. Much to the relief of everyone, Y S Sharmila got back to her feet a little later.
