YSRTP to go it alone, to field candidates in all 119 seats in Telangana

HYDERABAD: YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) president YS Sharmila declared on Thursday that the party would field its candidates in all the 119 seats in the ensuing Assembly elections in the State and there would be no truck with the Congress.
A decision in this regard was taken after the State level working committee meeting in Hyderabad. “We are sure that we will give a tough fight in all the 119 constituencies. Aspirants could apply for B Forms,” Sharmila said.
Giving reasons for the YSRTP's botched-up effort to merge with the Congress, she said that her intention was to ensure that the anti-incumbency vote was not divided.
“We held talks with the Congress to keep the anti-BRS vote intact otherwise K Chandrashekar Rao will become Chief Miniter of Telangana for the third time. We have waited for the Congress to respond for almost four months,” Sharmila pointed out.
Sharmila expressed her intention to contest from one more constituency in addition to Paleru. She said that the party cadre had been demanding that her mother Vijayyamma and her husband Anil should also contest. “If required they will also contest in the elections,” she said.
