“Abhaya Hastham” applications of Hayatnagar strewn on road, data security compromised

HYDERABAD: The filled-in application forms of the “Abhaya Hastham, flagship programme of the Congress Government in the State, are found strewn around on the roads.
Indeed, it is a matter of concern. The government has handed over the data entry work to private agencies for a cost of Rs 5 per application. Considering the fact that total number of applications received was pegged at 1.25 crore in all, the State would be spending Rs.6.25 crore just on data entry.
The applications were collected for 9 days beginning December 29 last year until January 6. People submitted the applications with great enthusiasm and also hope that they could benefit from the schemes announced by the Congress Government.

However, much to the consternation of people, the security of the applications came under cloud. For, the data security, including personal, family and income details of individuals, was compromised. Similarly, the hopes and aspirations of people hoping to benefit from the schemes were strewn on the roads.
The applications belonging to Hayatnagar circle were handed over to a private agency in Kukatpally for daya entry. While the bundles of applications were being carried on a Rapido bike by a delivery executive, the rope that fastened the package of the applications snapped and all the application forms fell on the roads.
Passers by saw the application forms and questioned the Rapido executive as to how he had been engaged for the delivery of the forms and how did the officials give this sensitive assignment just like that to anyone.
