Bandla Ganesh sentenced to one-year imprisonment in cheque bounce case by Ongole court

Film producer and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president Bandla Ganesh was sentenced to one year imprisonment and a fine of Rs.95 lakh.

ONGOLE: Film producer and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president Bandla Ganesh was sentenced to one year imprisonment and a fine of Rs.95 lakh.

Bandla Ganesh had taken Rs 95 lakh from one Jetti Venkateswarlu of Muppalla village in 2019. Ganesh later issued a cheque for the same amount on behalf of Parameshwara Art Productions.

However, on presentation of the instrument in the bank concerned by Venkateswarlu, the cheque bounced.

He immediately reported the matter to the police and lodged a formal complaint.

The police investigated into the case and established that the cheque had bounced.

The second munsif magistrate court in Ongole, after hearing the arguments, sentenced Ganesh to one year of imprisonment and asked him to deposit the Rs.95 lakh.

However, the court allowed Ganesh to go in for an appeal before a higher court within one month from the date of pronouncement of the verdict.
