HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has demanded the removal of TSPSC Chairman M Mahender Reddy.

Addressing media here on Thursday, Ms Kavitha said demanded a judicial inquiry into the allegations made by an advocate against Mahender Reddy.

Mahender Reddy, who was the DGP during the BRS regime, was criticised by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy earlier.

She sought to know how was an Andhra-origin person appointed as a member of the Public Service Commission.

What justice would they do to the youth of Telangana, she asked.

The Chief Minister had said that those who were related to politics would not be appointed as members of the Commission.

Kavitha asked how was Rajani Kumari, who had worked in the TDP, appointed as a member of the commission.

Referring to Telangana Transco, Genco and discoms, she asked what was the position of Andhra officials in the electricity company? She said out of four directors, three of those appointed on the board of the TSSPDCL -- Nanda Kumar, Narsimhulu and Sudha Madhuri -- were from Andhra. There were power cuts in the Gachibowli area where large IT companies were located and industrial parks were facing four hours of power outage every day. Farmers' plight could not be explained. "Why will they protect the interest of Telangana? Why were seven seniors from Telangana sidelined when appointing the directors?"

“How come three Andhra officers were appointed as directors in the power companies,” she asked and sought to know why would they protect the interests of Telangana.

The BRS leader alleged that the Chief Minister had elevated the lawyer who had argued the cash-for-vote case, in which Revanth Reddy was an accused, as the additional advocate-general of Telangana.

The Congress government was telling lies about Singareni jobs, she pointed out.

The Chief Minister distributed 400 appointment letters to people who got jobs under compassionate grounds. In fact, the Congress-affiliated INTUC and Telugu Desam-affiliated TNTUC which had agreed to do away with jobs on compassionate grounds in the Singareni Collieries. It’s KCR as the Chief Minister revived the practice and gave 20,000 such jobs. He had never gone for publicity by giving the appointment letters himself and ensured they were given by the local general managers of the units of the company. Revanth Reddy was trying showcase the jobs that happened in an official process as his role.

The Congress government had notified only 60 jobs while it had promised to fill two lakh jobs by December this year.

Revanth Reddy was a staunch follower of his guru N Chandrababu Naidu and was treading the same path now. She alleged that “yellow blood is flowing in CM Revanth Reddy’s body,” denoting the colour of the Telugu Desam Party.

Referring to Revanth Reddy’s objection to and approaching the court against the appointment of advisors, Kavitha said why did he provide rehabilitation to politicians. There was no problem with the appointment of politicians as advisors as they, like Shabbir Ali, would bring experience to table. But she questioned the appointment of Suryadevara Prasanna Kumar as advisor in the Assmebly. “What was his experience and why has he been appointed? I think he is also from Andhra and Revanth Reddy is working under the guidance of his ‘yellow uncle’,” she quipped
