CI Nageswara Rao surrenders in rape case

HYDERABAD: Maredpally Circle Inspector Nageshwar Rao, who was arrested by the police for allegedly raping a woman in Vanasthalipuram on June 7, surrendered before the Rachakonda Police on Sunday. The police will produce Rao in the court tomorrow.

The suspended inspector surrendered before a Special Operation Team at Pedda Amber Peta of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate on Sunday.

Nageshwar Rao asked the police to conduct the investigation impartially and said that he would cooperate with the police during investigation.

Nageshwar Rao was accused of luring the family of a former accused persons for pecuniary gains and made advances with his wife and was also accused of taping her and attempting to murder the couple.
