HYDERABAD: A man, along with his wife and sister-in-law, allegedly duped several customers of Rs. 3 crore in the name of a beauty parlour franchise in Hyderabad.
The couple, along with Jessica, who were running Gold Beauty Parlour, reportedly attracted customers through advertisements on YouTube channels. As their business became popular, the trio charged Rs 3.20 lakh for the interested customers on the pretext of providing a franchise and promised a monthly salary of Rs 35,000 to those who run a franchise.
However, after receiving payments for a few months, the accused stopped providing salaries and their contact mobiles were switched off. Upon realising they had been duped, the victims visited the Pragati Nagar head office in Hyderabad, only to find it locked.
The victims have filed a complaint at the Bachupally police station, and the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
It is not the first time they have been accused of fraudulent activities and had allegations of cheating the people through chit-fund schemes in Medak, Sangareddy, Siddipet, and Kamareddy districts. It is reported that several victims have fallen prey to their scams.
