'Eloped mom' booked under Pocso Act

VIJAYAWADA: The Gudiwada police on Wednesday brought the curtains down on the sensational vanishing act a married woman did along with a teenaged boy. They charged Swapna, the accused in the case, with sections under the stringent POCSO Act (The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) and also for kidnap.
Before revealing the details of their investigation in the case, the cops counselled the minor boy and handed him over to his family. The news of this case, which caused sensation locally, broke out with a complaint lodged recently by the boy's father with the two town police. The parent in his complaint stated that his minor son was kidnapped by a 30-year-old married woman, living opposite their house.
Swapna is the mother of three children and had been living with her husband in the Goodmen Pet locality. Stating that both the woman and her teenaged son had been missing, he expressed suspicion that the boy could have been brainwashed and kidnapped.
During their painstaking investigation, the police went on the trail of the two persons before tracking them down in Balanagar of Hyderabad.
Giving out details of the case, Gudiwada Two Town Inspector Durga Rao said that their team found Swapna and the boy holed up in a room in Balanagar. According to him, the woman had developed an illicit relationship with the minor by for well over a month.
Succumbing to her lust for the boy, the woman wanted to leave her family and live with the teenager forever. She sweettalked the unnamed boy into eloping with her, he added. The investigating teams used technology to track down the two and apprehend them.
