Five killed, one injured after a lorry hits a car in Miryalaguda

NALAGONDA: Five persons were killed and one injured after a speeding car overturned and was hit by a lorry at Krishna Manasa Colony bypass road in Miryalaguda of Nalgonda district on Sunday night.

The deceased were identified as Cherukupalli Mahesh (32), his wife Jyoti (30), daughter Rishita (6) belonging to Nandipadu Colony in Miryalaguda town, Mahesh's co-brother, Bomma Mahender (32) and his son Liansi (2) from Golnepalli village of Valigonda mandal of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district and the injured is identified as Madhavi. They went to Mopidevi temple in Krishna district and offered prayers

However, on their return, the car which overturned was hit by a lorry leading to a ghastly road accident, leaving the five of the family to die on the spot. Madhavi, who was severely injured, was shifted to a private hospital in Miryalaguda.

Upon learning about the incident, Miryalaguda Two town sub-inspector S Krishnaiah arrived, registered a case and is investigating. The SI said that the police carried out search operations to find out the lorry that caused the accident.
