Free power upto 200 units: consumers asked to share info of Aadhar, ration cards with visiting meter readers
This data would be collected first for the households for which power bills were not generated so far in the current billing cycle.
HYDERABAD: Energy department of Telangana has commenced exercise for enrolling and identifying Gruha Jyothi beneficiaries for the free power of up to 200 units of monthly consumption. The TSSPDCL meter readers would visit the households from Tuesday onwards. The electricity department urged people those who wanted to join the Gruha Jyothi scheme to show their respective white ration cards and Aadhar cards to the meter readers.

The department urged them to enter 12-digit ration card number, 12-digit Aadhar card number with one of the family member’s name and a 10-digit mobile number for linking them up with the data in the Praja Palana application forms submitted. The same would appear in the meter readers.
This data would be collected first for the households for which power bills were not generated so far in the current billing cycle.
Those whose bills were already generated would be linked in the next round after the end of the current billing cycle.
This exercise would last till February 15 and the consumers would have to validate the same.
In case of wrong entry in data or incomplete or nonavailability of data, the meter readers would record the data submitted by the consumers.
The data sharing is voluntary and the users can refuse to share the data.
Those who shared information would be assessed for eligibility and then they would be brought under the Gruha Jyothy scheme.
