GHMC Commissioner asks officials for proposals of works for junction improvement in city

HYDERABAD: In order to facilitate smooth movement of vehicles and control traffic problems due to increasing traffic in the city, Commissioner of GHMC has instructed the officials concerned to come up with proposals for calling for tenders, duly coordinating with Traffic, Engineering and Town planning officials.
During a review meeting with officials of city planning and engineering officials of the GHMC, Commissioner Ronald Rose asked the officials to identify the places for construction of foot-over bridges wherever necessary for the safety of pedestrians.
As many as 11 out of proposed 22 FOBs were completed and brought into use.

He wanted them to take up immediate escalator repair works wherever they were not functioning.
The Commissioner asked them to be ready with the monsoon preparedness action plan, like filling potholes and clear water stagnation points and prepare plan of action accordingly.
The Commissioner instructed the engineering officials to speed up the works taken up during current financial year which were incomplete and also put up proposals for the developmental works to be taken up in the next financial year.
He suggested to them to speed up the land acquisition process for junction improvement works, and also come up with proposals to widen the culverts on the roads at Rajendera Nagar and Loyola college.
Chief City Planner Rajendra Prasad Naik, S.Es and other senior officials from Engineering and Town planning attended the review meeting.
