Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for seven Telangana districts on Monday as the state's various regions continued to experience non-stop rain.

Red alerts were issued by the weather department for the districts of Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagtial, and Jayashankar Bhupalpally until 8:30 am on Tuesday.

With heavy to very heavy rain forecast, districts including Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Siddipet were put on orange alert.

Districts with a high likelihood of receiving heavy rain include Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal Rural and Urban, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Rangareddy and Vikarabad.

Light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are very likely to fall in the majority of locations in Telangana over the next two days and in a few locations on day three, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

Extremely heavy rainfall and heavy to very heavy rainfall are both likely to fall in remote areas on August 8 (Monday). It is likely that isolated areas in Telangana will experience heavy to very heavy rain on August 9.
