KCR announces Rs 70 cr for Malkajgiri Assembly segments
KCR announced Rs 70 crore as the constituency development fund for the seven Assembly segments of the Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency
MEDCHAL: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday announced a total of Rs 70 crore as the constituency development fund for the seven Assembly segments of the Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency.
He said that each Assembly segment would get Rs 10 crore in addition to the existing Rs 5 crore for the development of the constituency. An order to this effect would soon be issued by the State Government, he added.
The Telangana Chief Minister inaugurated the Integrated District Offices Complex of the Medchal-Malkajgiri district. He invited Collector S Harish to take his seat. An all-community prayer was held to mark the auspicious occasion.
Addressing a public meeting later, KCR said that the number of pensions in the state had been increased from the existing 36 lakhs to 46 lakhs from August 15 this year.
He said that very soon people's representatives of all levels including MLAs and MLCs would personally visit every household to hand over the new pension cards to beneficiaries.
The TRS chief appealed to the people to stay united and help his government sustain Telangana's growth and development in all sectors. In a veiled attack on the BJP and the Congress, he asked the people not be deceived by the false promises and hollow rhetoric.
KCR also claimed that Telangana was the only state in the country that was providing a 24-hour uninterrupted and quality electricity to its consumers. "When even Delhi faces severe power cuts, Hyderabad and Telangana are free from this predicament", he said. Due to the inefficiency and the bad policies adopted by the rulers at the Centre, the power crisis loomed large on the rest of the country, he said.
He also sought to enlighten the gathering on why the creation of a separate Medchal-Malkajgiri district became imperative. "No one in this part of the state would have ever dreamt that Medchal would become a district. It was earlier part of the Ranga Reddy district which was huge in terms of its population. There were requests from many quarters that it be carved into three districts – Ranga Reddy, Vikarabad and Medchal. The dream became a reality when we expanded the districts to 33 with the objective of decentralising the administration and bringing good governance closer to the people", he said.
The Chief Minister also spoke about the expeditious efforts taken by his government, especially at the local level, in constructing the buildings for the 'Rythu Vedikalu'. He said that the task was achieved in just a span of 6-7 months to facilitate 2,601 of these centres across the state.
Earlier, on his way to Medchal, KCR also stopped by the Thota Mutyalamma Temple and offered prayers.
