KCR for aerial survey in flood-hit areas tomorrow

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao will go on an aerial survey on Sunday morning in the wake of the natural calamity that occurred due to heavy rains, resulting in floods in the Godavari basin.
The Chief Minister's aerial survey will continue in the Godavari basin from Kadem to Bhadrachalam.
Chief Secretary to the government Somesh Kumar will also participate in this survey along with KCR.
The officials are working out the helicopter route and other procedures related to the aerial survey to be undertaken by the Chief Minister.
Health Minister T Harish Rao is conducting a review meeting with doctors and senior officials of dispensaries in the Godavari flood-affected areas as part of public healthcare to prevent the spread of infectious diseases due to floods.
In view of the CM's visit tomorrow, the Health Department is making arrangements for this too.
Meanwhile, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan will go to Bhadrachalam tomorrow to inspect the flood-affected areas. The Governor will go to Bhadrachalam by train from Secunderabad at night.
The continuous rain battered Telangana for seven days has wreaked a havoc disrupting normal life due to the heavy floods in the Godavari basin. Two pump houses in the Kaleshwaram project were submerged. The Godavari has reached almost 70 feet at Bhadrachalam, snapping connections to the town with the rest of the world.
