KCR sets up war room, personally monitors flood situation

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekar Rao kept the entire state administration, Ministers, MLAs and people's representatives on toes in the wake of heavy rains lashed the Telangana State for the last six days.

The Chief minister has been conducting reviews with every department, including revenue, panchayat Raj, irrigation, disaster mitigation, and issued necessary instructions to contain flood related damages at the projects and habitations in the rain-hit districts.

His regular interaction with district authorities and ministers, who camped in their respective districts, helped ascertain the flood situation. He gave directions with instant decisions to help the machinery at the field level.


KCR is constantly in touch those in flood-hit areas, including ministers of the Godavari basin – A Indrakaran Reddy, P Ajay Kumar and V Prashanath Reddy — and monitored the flood situation in the districts heavy hit by rains.

The Ministers, MLAs and officials are shifting people from flood affected areas to safer zones, minimising the losses.

The CMO is making efforts to contain the property damage and loss of lives due to heavy rains.

The Chief Minister is conducting continuous reviews with Chief Secretary, DGP and Special Chief Secretaries of Roads and Building, Irrigation, Energy and Medical and Health departments.

KCR has spoken directly to people's representatives and officials and instructed them to keep the NDRF, rescue teams and chopper services ready to plunge into action.

Advance measures are being taken to curb impact of heavy rains on power supply, roads, drinking water supply and health and containing spread of epidemics.
