HYDERABAD: Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, who has recently quit the Congress and also as Munugodu MLA, is widely believed to be joining the Bhartiya Janata Party on August 21.
The former Congress leader met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Friday. Rajgopal Reddy was accompanied by BJP national executive member Vivek Venkata Swamy.
Reportedly, several key political aspects pertaining to Telangana including the time and date for Rajgopal Reddy's entry into the BJP and the preparations for the conduct of a mammoth public meeting in Munugodu were discussed on the occasion.
Rajgopal Reddy, on this occasion, is also learnt to have conveyed his despite to make his formal entry into the party during the Munugodu public meeting.
Interestingly, both Rajgopal Reddy and his brother and Congress MP from Bhongir Komatireddy Venkat Reddy met Amit Shah in Delhi on the same day. It was not clear if they had separate meetings with the top BJP leader. Venkat Reddy's meeting came amid speculation that he would be following in his brother's steps into the BJP sooner or later.
But like a typical politician, Venkat Reddy brushed aside the significance of his meting with Amit Shah and denied reports that he would be leaving the Congress party.
