Monkeypox suspect absconds in Visakhapatnam

VISAKHAPATNAM: A suspected monkeypox patient absconded in Visakhapatnam, causing a flutter among officials and people.

A 22-year-old male at GITAM University developed suspected symptoms of monkeypox.

Recently, he went to Hyderabad. When he was admitted to hospital, the doctors there provided special treatment to the victim at GITAM Hospital. When four doctors from Andhra Medical College went to examine him on Friday, he had done the vanishing act and absconded from the ward. The officials immediately alerted police and all other departments to trace his whereabouts. The police are collecting his details.
