HYDERABAD: The National Flags hoisted in Sanjeevaiah Park in the City was taken down due to heavy gales and rains.

The flag hoisted in Sanjeevaiah Park in Hyderabad on June 2, 2016 to mark the formation of the State is among the top 10 biggest flags in the country. It is one of the tallest flag posts in the country with a height of 291 ft and magnificent dimensions of 72 x 108 ft height and wisth respectively.

The flag was taken down by Telangana's Urban Development department, on Tuesday, for the first time since it was hoisted due to very high wind velocity in the state. The 291-ft-tall flag was likely to be damaged and so it was taken down temporarily. Special Chief Secretary of Municipal Administration & Urban Develepment Arvind Kumar tweeted that the flag would be put up as soon as wind velocity came down.



The Sanjeevaiah Park Flag has now become the seventh tallest flags in the country.

Here's a list of Top 10 tallest national flags.

1. Inaugurated in 2018, the 361-ft National Flag is the tallest in the country.

2. The second tallest flag of 360 ft is at Attari border. It was inaugurated in 2017.

3. The 351-ft tall flag at Bhakti Shakti, Pune is the third tallest. It was inaugurated in 2018.

4. Also inaugurated in 2018, The National Flag at Guwahati stands 319-ft-tall and fourth tallest in the country.

5. The 303-ft Kolhapur flag is the fifth tallest. It was inaugurated in 2017.

6. Inaugurated just months before the flag in Hyderabad in 2016, the flag at Ranchi is 293-ft-tall.

7. The 291-ft flag at Sanjeevaiah Park, Hyderabad was inaugurated in 2016.

8. Raipur hoisted a 269-ft flag in 2016 which is the eighth largest.

9. The 250-ft flag in Faridabad was inaugurated in 2015.

10. Pune PMC inaugurated 237-ft flag near Katraj Lake at Pune in 2016.
