Padi Kaushik Reddy take autorickshaw, Balmuri Venkat travels in city bus to Assembly

HYDERABAD: Budget session of the Telangana legislature began on an interesting note on Thursday.

While BRS MLA from Huzurabad Padi Kaushik Reddy came in an autorickshaw to indicate the party’s support to the cause of the autorickshaw drivers, while Congress MLC Balmuri Venkat came in an RTC city bus while interacting with women on board and enquiring with them their experience due to free bus travel scheme.

Kaushik Reddy said that lakhs of families of autorickshaw drivers had lost their livelihood due to free bus travel, he said that the BRS party would stand by them. He said autorickshaw drivers told him that they were facing acute financial hardship due to the free bus travel for women. He said that 21 autorickshaw drivers died by suicide so far in the State.

Balmuri Venkat boarded a city bus at Nampally and travelled up to Assembly. He discussed the advantages of the free bus travel for women scheme with women in the bus.
