Police wind up probe in 53 days in Amnesia Pub gang-rape case

HYDERABAD: The Jubilee Hills police on Thursday filed the chargesheet in the Amnesia Pub gang-rape case that sent shockwaves in the state nearly two months ago. The chargesheets were filed in two courts, namely, the Juvenile Court and the Nampally Court.

It took 56 days for the Jubilee Hills police to wind through their investigation into the sensational case to file the chargesheet finally on Thursday. The statements from a total of 65 witnesses were recorded during the probe.

In the chargesheet, running nearly into 600 pages, the police have pinned the blame on Saduddin Malik, the prime accused, and five juveniles under various sections for their alleged complicity in the gang-rape. Three of the minors were granted bail on Tuesday while the other two received the bail on Wednesday.

The six persons are accused of trapping the girl at the Amnesia pub in Jubilee Hills before committing the heinous crime. Initially, the accused partied at the pub along with the victim. Then, they took her to a bakery in Banjara Hills. The accused later offered to drop the girl back at the pub. While driving her back in an Innova car, they gang-raped the victim.

The Jubilee Hills police have incorporated all the data and evidence received in the form of reports from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and DNA tests besides CCTV footages, phone call records and messages. The police also used Proactive Test and technical evidences to fortify the case.
