Rally with 10,000 bikes, rousing reception to Sinha by TRS to irk BJP

HYDERABAD: A massive reception, a huge bike rally to lead and a meeting at a sprawling venue are the majordients that have been charted out by the Telangana for the electioneering of the Presidential candidate on behalf of the Opposition parties Yashwant Sinha in Hyderabad.

Working president of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) K T Rama Rao has asked the party cadres to gear up for the big spectacle for extending support to Sinha. The TRS will welcome Sinha at Begumpet Airport at 10 am and take him to Jalavihar in a huge rally with 10,000.

KTR conducted a meet with ministers, legislators, MPs and other elected representatives on Thursday.

But why all this for a presidential election, that too when the outcome if all to well known. KTR wants to make an emphatic statement by this, just an hour before Prime Minister Narendra Modi descended on the city to participate in the two-day national executive meet of the BJP. The grandiose arrangements being made adroitly by the TRS would perhaps shock even Sinha, for the election to the highest office of the country is never direct and the optics never took the pride of place.

Going by the information that the TRS was preferring a gala event to campaign for the presidential nominee of the Opposition parties. The TRS is laying extraordinary emphasis on Sinha's electioneering, even though he was not the party's choice nor was the party an ally with any opposition conglomerate, with a view to demonstrating how serious it is in taking on the mighty BJP.

The political narrative was set by the TRS the moment the BJP has chosen Hyderabad as its venue its national executive. KCR deputed his son for the presidential nomination precisely for this reason and KTR, during his press conference, minced no words in taking on the BJP. While maintaining dignity, he used an acerbic language against the "misdeeds" of the BJP and asserted that the TRS could not be cowed down by the 'evil designs'.

Sinha's campaign trail would be historic with the massive Hyderabad event that would be etched in the annals of the history of any presidential election, thanks to the national executive of the BJP being conducted in Hyderabad.
