Rs. 1000 Cr for colonies, Bhadrachalam

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister KCR visited flood-affected areas in Bhadrachalam. He observed the flood of Godavari near Bhadrachalam river bund and talked to flood victims at relief camps. He said that Bhadrachalam was drowning every time there was a flood and announced that permanent colonies would be built for Bhadrachalam flood victims.
Later, the the Chief Minister addressed a press conference. Here are the highlights of KCR's media conference at Bhadrachalam.
• The people of Bhadrachalam and Pinapaka constituencies were more affected by the floods due to the overflowing Godavari.
• No loss of life due to floods.
• It was commendable that public representatives and officials worked in perfect coordination
• He congratulated Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Collector of Bhadradri Kothagudem, MLAs and public representatives.
• He decided to permanently solve the problem of flooding in Bhadrachalam and would build colonies on permanent basis for flood victims
• Permanent colonies should be built in higher altitude with Rs.1,000 crores, the directed the Collector
• Bhadrachalam urban contour levels should be considered for this.
• Inundated habitations in Karakatta areas should also be moved.
• A permanent solution should be provided to the victims.
• We are allocating Rs. 1,000 crore funds for a permanent solution.
• Continuous bleaching should be done to prevent epidemics from spreading in flooded areas
• Special funds would be provided if required for this purpose
• Senior officials including Khammam District Collector should be brought to Bhadrachalam
• Permanent measures would be taken to prevent flooding of Ram temple
• We would protect Bhadrachalam Sitaramachandra Swamy shrine from flooding and develop it
• I will visit Bhadrachalam again soon for this purpose
• Steps would be taken to save Sitamma Parnashala from flood
• The threat of rain is still not over. Rains will continue till the end of this month.
• Cloud bursts were occurring in changed weather conditions
• As a result flood is increasing
• Kadem project could be rescued by the grace of God.
• Flood water capacity for this project does not exceed 2,90,000 cusecs.
• But now the project is standing strong even though it has gone beyond 5 lakhs.
• Streams are overflowing and ponds are full.
• People should not ignore that the rains have decreased.
• The issues related to irrigation in Dummagudem, Charla mandals came to my knowledge.
• We will complete the balance works of Mondikunta vagu and Palem vagu.
• Flood problems have arisen in many villages in Bhadrachalam, Burgampadu and Pinapaka areas.
• Crops were submerged in water. We will review and provide appropriate assistance
• People in relief centers should be evacuated only after the situation improves.
• We will provide free rice for another two months at the rate of Rs 20 kg per family.
• We will provide Rs.10,000 as immediate assistance to flood affected families
• All people should be cautious for another 15 days. "Don't relax. Be alert."
• Congratulations to all those who followed our orders from Hyderabad and rescued people from floods and saved lives.
