HYDERABAD: Telangana Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy has urged everyone to participate in the 10-minute program every Sunday at 10 am for the prevention of mosquitoes. The Minister participated in the hygiene program at her residence under the direction of GHMC Entomology Chief Dr. Rambabu.
On this occasion, Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy said that everyone should work to prevent mosquitoes every Sunday at 10 am for 10 minutes, and all the family members including children should keep the house clean inside and outside.
Sabitha Indra Reddy said that the rural areas were being cleaned through rural and urban development program as a special initiative of the Chief Minister of the State. She asserted that the government, private educational institutions, the government offices, and Anganwadi were undertaking cleanliness programs every Friday. The minister said that the government's responsibility and people's participation in the prevention of diseases such as dengue, malaria, and meningitis were very important.
Chief Entomologist Dr. Rambabu said that extensive measures were being taken to prevent mosquito-borne diseases. He said that efforts were being made to prevent ALO larvae in each of the three colonies. He said leaflets were being distributed and stickers are being placed at houses. Besides, regular fogging in the colonies, and mosquito fish were being released in stagnant water, he said. Somajiguda Corporator, Entomology Officers, and others participated in this program.
