The two fresh water lakes, Osmansagar and Himayatsagar, reached their full tank level (FTL) and flood gates were opened to release the water downstream.
1. Osman Sagar: FTL : 1790.00 feet (3.900 TMC)
Present level: 1786.00 ft (3.008 TMC)
Inflows: 300 Cusecs
Outflow: 208 Cusecs
Gates: 2 Opened up to 1 foot height
2. Himayat Sagar: FTL: 1763.50 ft (2.97 TMC)
Present Level: 1760.55 (2.370 TMC)
Inflows: 500 Cusecs.
Outflow: 686 Cusecs
Gates: 2 Opened up to 1 foot
Meanwhile, Hussain Sagar too is filled and the water is brimming. While the FTL is 513.41 metres, the water is currently at 513.50 metres. Officials cautioned the people in the low lying areas of Hussainsagar to be on a high alert in view of the continuing rains. The flood gates could be opened any time.
