Telangana's first 24-hr heritage coach restaurant opens at Kacheguda Railway Station

HYDERABAD: In a bid to elevate passenger services and offer a unique dining experience to food enthusiasts, the South Central Railway (SCR) has introduced a novel concept called 'Restaurant on Wheels' at the bustling Kacheguda Railway Station. This marks the first train-themed restaurant at any railway station in the State, adding a touch of nostalgia and excitement to the dining landscape.

Two heritage coaches have been meticulously refurbished with aesthetically pleasing interiors, designed to transport visitors to a bygone era of luxury train travel. The privilege of operating the restaurant has been awarded to Pariwar's Have More, Secunderabad, for a five-year period. The restaurant boasts a multi-cuisine menu, encompassing delectable dishes frotm North Indian, South Indian, Mughalai, and Chinese culinary traditions.

The restaurant is situated near the station's circulating area. According to the SCR "It aims to provide a plethora of food and beverage choices, ensuring uncompromised hygiene and superior quality. As a testament to its commitment to customer satisfaction, the restaurant operates round-the-clock, catering to the convenience of travelers at any hour."

Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR, lauded the efforts of Hyderabad Division officers and staff for providing this exceptional passenger amenity at Kacheguda Railway Station, using the charm of heritage coaches. "Food connoisseurs in Hyderabad and twin city region will be delighted by this distinctive dining experience, further elevating the region's culinary scene. I urge rail users and the general public to seize this opportunity and indulge in the novel initiative by the railways," he said.
