AMARAVATHI: Chief Election Commissioner of India Rajeev Kumar has warned that cases will be filed against those who have votes at two places. In a briefing to the media after the reviews on upcoming elections and voter lists recently, the CEC clarified that having property in Andhra Pradesh was alone not enough to become eligible for a vote in the state without having residence there.
Those who had exercised their voting right during the Telangana would not be allowed to register as voters in Andhra Pradesh, he asserted.

According to Rajeev Kumar, the total number of voters in Andhra Pradesh was 4.07 crore, including 2.07 crore female voters and 1.99 crore male voters. He also stated that around 5.8 lakh senior citizens could exercise their vote from their respective homes.
Additionally, he stated that there were approximately 7.88 lakh first-time voters, and interestingly, there were 1,174 individuals over who were aged over 100 years.
The CEC said that the final voter list would be released on January 22.
