Devotees visiting the Kanaka Durga temple atop Indrakeeladri are allegedly facing hardships over the lack of proper facilities
VIJAYAWADA: Devotees visiting the Kanaka Durga temple atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada are allegedly facing hardships over the lack of proper facilities for them in the queue lines.
In an unusual move on Monday, a large number of devotees, stranded in the queue lines for a long time, raised slogans against the executive officer of the temple. They shouted 'down down EO' giving vent to their anger. A video of it quickly went viral. The devotees alleged that the temple staff is giving priority to VIPs ignoring common devotees in facilitating the darshans at the temple.
The devotees protested at the media point in Indrakeeladri expressing anguish over the darshans not being completed despite standing in the queue line for almost seven hours.
Complaining that there was no drinking water facility for those in the queue lines, the devotees said that children and elderly people were facing severe difficulties.
