Benevolent ATM dispenses Rs 2,500 for Rs 500 in Moghalpura

HYDERABAD: A faulty HDFC ATM machine dispensing Rs 2,500 for a withdrawal request of Rs 500 became the talk of the town in Moghalpura on Tuesday night. The ATM, situated near Ishrat Mahal, sent the bank authorities and the police into a tizzy.

Learning about the unexpected cash fest due to a technical fault in the ATM, locals lined up outside it to take advantage of the situation. A video, showing how the ATM was dispensing Rs 2,500, went viral on the Internet. As the visual showed, a local, who entered an amount of Rs 500 in return received Rs 2,500 from the machine.

The Moghalpura police, after receiving the information, reached the site immediately. They had locked the ATM and informed the bank officials concerned about the same.
