Chain-snatching in Secunderabad; video goes viral

SECUNDERABAD: The ever-busy Secunderabad road witnessed a chain-snatching incident in broad daylight on Friday. An unidentified man snatched the chain from a woman, while she was talking to another woman on the road. The incident, which occurred within the Gopalapuram Police limits and caused commotion, was captured by a nearby CCTV camera.

As the footage showed, the man went close to the victim pretending to be just another passerby before snatching the chain and fleeing the place. It took the victim a few seconds to realise what happened and clamour for help.

A traffic policeman of the Gopalapuram PS, who was on duty nearby, was seen immediately going after the miscreant. As it turned out, he recovered the chain after a hot chase. But it was not clear whether the chain-snatcher was apprehended or he had fled the place after abandoning the chain. The video of the chilling CCTV footage has been going viral since then.
