Chilkur Balaji temple cancels proposed ‘Vivaha Prapti’prgramme on Sunday following ‘Garuda Prasadam’ fiasco

HYDERABAD: The Chilkur Balaji temple has canceled the proposed ‘Vivaha Prapti’ programme on Sunday following the huge traffic jam that the devotees have created en route to the temple. However, the 'Srivari Kalyanam’ will be performed as planned on Sunday evening.

“The proposed 'Vivaha Prapti 'programme meant for those waiting to get married has been canceled following Friday's events that led to chaos during the distribution of ‘Garuda Prasadm for the childless couples. But the ‘kalyanotsavam’ to the presiding deity will be performed in the evening. But no one will be allowed inside the temple,” CS Rangarajan the temple head priest said on Saturday.
