DGP Anjani Kumar flags off Telangana Run as part of state formation celebrations

HYDERABAD: As part of the 21-day decennial celebrations of Telangana state formation day, Ministers Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Talasani Srinivasa Yadav, Srinivas Goud, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, state DGP Anjani Kumar GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijaya Lakshmi and Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender, flagged off 2k and 5k Telangana run on Monday at Prasad IMAX where athletes in the likes of Nikhat Zareen, Esha Singh besides singer Mangli and actress Sri Leela were present on the occasion.

Telangana government is celebrating the state formation day for 21 days by carrying out various programs and as part of it, Telangana Run was organized in Hyderabad.

The youth and elders from all quarters participated in the run and cheered up for the songs by Mangli and Ram while the athletes Nikat Zareen, Esha Singh, and actress Sri Leela present there also addressed the gathering and cheered the participants. They also thanked the Telangana government and the Ministers present there for inviting them to the celebrations.

Lauding the efforts of the Telangana government under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the athletes wished the younger state to prosper further in development. The Hyderabad traffic police have made all the arrangements for the event as it is the event being organized under the auspices of the Telangana police department and imposed restrictions around NTR Marg and Necklace Road from 4 am.

Speaking on the occasion, Home Minister Mahmood Ali said that Telangana has achieved the number one position in the country because of a strong leader like K Chandrashekar Rao. He pointed out that no other state in the country had implemented so many welfare schemes for its people.

Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari said that there was a tremendous response from people to the decennial celebrations of the state’s formation. DGP Anjani Kumar said that Hyderabad had emerged as the safest and healthiest city in the country.
