HYDERABAD: Ahead of Independence Day celebrations at Golconda Fort in Hyderabad where Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will unfurl the national flag the State DGP Anjani Kumar conducted a review of the arrangements for the celebrations.

During the review meeting, the officials of various departments were briefed about the steps to be taken for the D-Day celebrations. Special commissioner Ashok Reddy from the Department of Information and Public Relations informed that 14 large LED screens have been installed to provide clear visibility of the event for attendees. He said 10 camera units have been set up for live coverage, and necessary arrangements have been made to ensure uninterrupted live broadcasting.

Assuring the DGP that all arrangements have been made to ensure the comfort and convenience of the chief guests, officials, and visitors attending the event, The Jalmandali department MD Danakishore said that one lakh water packets and 25,000 water bottles have been arranged under the auspices of Jalmandali.

The Health and Medical Department officials said that four ambulances would be arranged at the venue along with one room in Golconda Primary Health Centre to provide medical services in emergency situations. The officials of the fire department said that three fire engines, six best bikes, and four ladders would be kept ready.

Srinivasa Raju, secretary of the Electricity Department; Roads and Buildings Department said that special generators and waterproof sheds would be installed to ensure continuous power supply. In all 1200 artists would greet the Chief Minister at the venue.

Parking for 1930 vehicles

Traffic Additional CP Sudhir Babu stated that arrangements were made for the parking of 1930 vehicles. He said separate parking areas have been designated for ministers, senior government officials, MLAs, MPs, media vehicles, and general visitors. "GHMC has also made arrangements for sanitation in the vicinity of Golconda Fort," CP said.

The meeting was attended by City Police Commissioner CV Anand, Additional DG Swati Lakra, education department secretary Vakati Karuna, school education director Devasena, protocol director Arvind Singh, Tourism Corporation MD Manohar, TSIIC MD Narasimha Reddy, and others.
