ANANTAPUR: Students put an impressive show at the Jagananna Vidya Deevena launch program where Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Wednesday disbursed scholarships to students to the tune of Rs.912 crore benefitting 9,55,662 students.

An engineering student Divya Deepika took to the stage to highlight the positive impact that the YS Jagan government's initiatives have had on the lives of the poor and the marginalised in Andhra Pradesh.

Divya, studying B.Tech second year at JNTU, Anantapur, recalled CM Jagan’s words about education being 'A lamp that lights up lives and transforms families'. She added, “My father is a tailor while my mother is a homemaker. Now, I am able to study without any financial burden on my family through Vidya Deevena and Vasathi Deevena schemes where both the college and accommodation expenses are taken care of by the government.”

Keerthi, another B.Tech student from Anantapur, showered praises on the educational schemes of Andhra Pradesh. “CM Jagan, you once said that there is no success without struggle. You kept your promise that you would educate the children of Andhra Pradesh. We in return promise that we will be the bright and reliable future of Andhra Pradesh”, Keerthi shared.

"My brother who is studying in Class 10 received ₹

Rs. 15,000 through Amma Vodi which took care of his school expenses. Not just this, we received help via revolutionary reforms introduced by you whether it is skill development courses, communication development, community service projects which ultimately resulted in the holistic development of individuals here," Keerthi lauded the Chief Minister.

The eloquence with which Keerthi presented her points of view held the audience spellbound. Her articulate assertion about the befits accrued to the poor and downtrodden owing to the schemes was impressive.

The flow of her immaculate English, considering her background, indeed made her the cynosure of all eyes.
