Flooding, stagnant water disrupt traffic on ORR at Shamshabad

SHAMSHABAD: Waterlogging due to overflowing rainwater from nearby lakes and flooding the Outer Ring Road has forced the closure of the toll gate at Shamshabad. As a result, vehicular traffic is being severely disrupted on the stretch from the side of the Shamshabad Ring Road, causing inconvenience to the commuters.

According to information, the lakes in Pedda Golkonda and Chinna Golkonda villages at Shamshabad mandal were filled to the brim. The overflowing water has been stagnant on both sides of the junction of the ring road near exit 15, causing serious problems for motorists.

Even as the traffic police were draining out the floodwater from the road, motorists were forced to get off from the ring road at Pedda Golkonda junction to cross the ring road due to which they had to travel sethe lakes in Pedda Golkonda and Chinna Golkonda villages at Shamshabad mandal were filled to the brimven km and come back. Later, the traffic police diverted the vehicles coming from Shamshabad to Golconda towards Tukkuguda.

On the other hand, there was a risk of short circuit at toll booths as the rainwater was overflowing. It is likely to take 15 to 30 days for the water flow to recede.
