Locals have blamed the Irrigation department officials and said that despite repeated complaints the department had not taken necessary action.
Bodhan MLA Shakeel Ahmed had sanctioned Rs. 9 lakhs for the construction of two culverts and an artificial lake to divert floodwater after receiving multiple complaints from the villagers.
According to reports, it was an online tender and the contractor completed the work at only one place and did not finish work at two other places.
The villagers of Lingapur said that due to the negligence by the irrigation department and the contracters they would have to face losses.
